Sheriff's deputies arrested the driver of a stolen car who led police on snatch-and-seek before fleeing on foot.
Around 4:25 p.m., Holland police located the stolen Chrysler 300 car. On Sunday, Oct. 17, between East 32nd Street and Waverly Road, the violence was reported.
The driver of the vehicle sped off after police attempted to stop it, but the driver quickly returned. Sheriffs deputies joined the chase when the vehicle entered Ottawa County, but police called off the pursuit because the fleeing driver was speeding recklessly.
Sheriffs deputies observed the suspect walking at Chicago Drive and New Holland Street near Hudsonville a little later. The suspect fled on foot when police approached, but was arrested after a foot chase.
The vehicle had been left abandoned in a nearby neighborhood, police said.
The suspect was arrested on several charges and held in the Ottawa County Jail, sheriffs deputies said.
