Windows 11 began its rollout earlier this month, when Microsoft introduced its new operating system to eligible devices on Oct. 5. Everyone who uses Windows 10 can upgrade for free if they have a compatible computer, but dozens of people are still waiting for the chance.

Microsoft is rolling out the OS in phases, so your computer might not prompt you to upgrade just yet -- in fact, you might find it difficult even if you tell your machine to check for updates. Microsoft stated in an August blog post that it expects "all eligible devices to be given the free upgrade to Windows 11 by mid-2022." Don't want to wait until next year? The Windows 11 Installation Assistant is a Windows shortcut.

If you're not in a rush, the Windows 11 update will be pushed to your device at some point in the coming months, when Microsoft's data suggests the update is ready for that device. As long as your device is compatible and meets the minimum requirements, the upgrade process will be comparable to a normal Windows 10 update. (And even if it doesn't, Microsoft will offer a workaround, but in that case your Windows 11 installation will not be supported by the company.)

However, you still have the option to manually download Windows 11 and explore its new features, such as widgets, snap layouts and virtual desktops as well as the Microsoft Store. We'll explain how to do it in a moment. Before your download, here's everything you need to know about Microsoft'' new software.

To determine if your current Windows 10 PC is eligible for the free upgrade to Windows 11, you can check in a number of ways. You'll also get a free upgrade if you buy s oem PC.

If you haven't updated to Windows 10 yet, don' worry -- there's a trick for downloading Windows10 for free that still works. Now is the perfect time to make the switch so you can prepare your machine for the Windows 11 upgrade. That trick will be the same as it is if you want to manually upgrade an older computer to Windows 11, though Microsoft doesn't recommend doing so as the device may not be eligible for the updates.

How to install Windows 11 without waiting for the installation wizard: How do I download Windows 2011 without having to wait for Windows 10 to run?

Some users may download Windows 11 the same way you would get any new version of Windows. Go to the menu and choose "Go". If the upgrade isn't yet available to you, but you want to upgrade now, you have a few options. The best and simplest option will be to download the Windows 11 Installation Assistant. Choose Your Options. Run the Run Run Make sure your computer is compatible after the download to ensure that it's functioning properly. Then, the next step is to get your mind off the topic. Accept and Install the Installation and Acceptment of the Software. To begin the installation, you must accept the licensing conditions. You'll be prompted to restart your computer after the program finishes installing. Your PC may restart several times while you're completing the installation, so don't be alarmed. Keep your PC on until everything's finished.

If you aren't able to use the Windows 11 Installation Assistant, there are a couple of backup options, but be warned that they are more complex. We strongly suggest that you wait for the update to arrive on your device. If you're certain you want to proceed, you can create an ISO file or Windows 11 installation media. What's in Windows 11?

Windows 11 has a more Mac-like appearance, with pastel colors, rounded corners, and redesigned startup sounds. The Windows Start menu has moved from the bottom left of the screen to the middle, with app icons arranged in the center. You'll find a slew of new desktop tools, such as widgets that provide at-a-glance information, and streamlined virtual desktop creation. Android apps will be integrated into Windows and installable from the Microsoft Store, though that option won't be available right away. The update marks Microsoft's first major change since the release of Windows 10 back in 2015. Rumors about a major Windows redesign have been swirling for the past year. At the Microsoft Build developers conference on May 25, CEO Satya Nadella said Microsoft was planning "one of the most significant updates of Windows of recent decade," confirming that a major change was on the way for the 1.3 billion users of OS in 2021. In mid-June, Microsoft quietly announced that it would cease support for Windows 10 in 2025, as leaked images of Windows 11 spread.
