GRAMBLING, La. Officials said one person was shot dead and seven others were wounded Sunday at Grambling State University, the second fatal shooting at the Louisiana school in four days.
The shooting happened about 1 a.m. According to university social media posts, the university's Sunday on the campus quad is the day of the week. The person who died was not enrolled at the school, and the one student who is still a student was treated for injuries that were not life-threatening. The identities of the victims havent been released.
Homecoming events on Sunday, as well as classes on Monday and Tuesday, were canceled. The university imposed a curfew from 9:30 p.m. to 6 o'clock until further notice.
Early Wednesday morning, a person died and three others were wounded in he separate shooting on campus. The university stated in a press release that the gunfire involved two individuals who werent enrolled at the school. Two of the students in the vicinity suffered injuries that werent life-threatening.
Jatavious Carroll, 18, was named a suspect in that case, but has not yet been taken into custody, Louisiana State Police said in op-ed on Sunday. Both Grambling State shootings are being investigated by the FBI.
