Jim Marshall Doc Show Me The Picture & Mars Mission Doc Red Heaven
EXCLUSIVE: Robert Schwartzmans Los Angeles-based sales and distribution firm Utopia has secured deals on a pair of documentaries.
The firm has taken North American rights to Show Me The Picture: The Story of Jim Marshall, a feature film celebrating the life of the famed rock and roll photographer. Marshall has captured The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, and The Rolling Stones throughout his career, capturing more than 850 iconic photos and interviews.
Utopia will be released to select theaters throughout October, as well as on AppleTV and Altavod. Pic is a film written by Alfred George Bailey and produced by Tatiana Kennedy.
The company has also purchased U.S. rights to Red Heaven, a feature that follows six young volunteers as they prepare for preparing for an eight-month NASA experiment designed to replicate the physical and psychological conditions of october's Mars landing.
The pic is a Sandbox Films production in association with Seeker and Insignia Film. Lauren DeFilippo and Katherine Gorringe co-directed and produced the film. Utopia will be released on AppleTV and Altavod on October 19th.
