Disney+ Slate Of Asia-Pacific Fare Includes Series Led By K-Pop Star Kang Daniel
Disney has pulled the curtain on its slate of Asia-Pacific films and TV shows that will be available for its two-year-old streaming service. Rookies, a romantic drama set in an elite police academy that stars K-pop sensation Kang Daniel, and Blackpink: The Movie, an upcoming documentary on the popular Kpop group celebrating its fifth anniversary, are among the shows to be shown on Disney+.
The slate includes 20-plus global, regional, and local-language films that were announced today as they are headed for Disney+ as South Korean drama series Squid Game has become a global phenomenon. Check out the slate below.
The new APAC projects include original productions from scripted live-action tentpole series including drama, comedy, fantasy, romance, sci-fi, crime, and horror, as well as variety shows, documentaries, & anime from markets such as Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Greater China, Australia, Japan and South America. Subject to local availability, the new APAC content titles will be available on the streaming service over the next year, according to Disney.

Disney+ is now available in Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand, as well as next month in South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea and Hongkong. The new projects are part of Disney's ambitious goal of launching more than 50 APAC Originals by 2023.
