Man who admitted to sexually assaulting women in downtown Ann Arbor is now serving time in prison

ANN ARBOR, MI A man who admitted to committing a series of sexual assaults on women in downtown Ann Arbor while on parole is now serving time in prison.

Pierre Antonio-Deshant Holloway was sentenced to 8-15 years in prison Wednesday, Oct. 13, for assaulting several Ann Arbor women in a five-day period in July.

Holloway, 35, accepted a plea offer and pleaded guilty on Sept. 15 to one count of assault with intent to cause great bodily harm and two counts of sexual penetration.

At sentencing, a felony count of second-degree criminal sexual conduct was dismissed. Part of the agreement was the 8-15 year prison term.

Holloway was asked if he had anything to add ahead of sentencing and unless a sentence was set, merely what happened to his ID and the credit cards tucked away in his pockets when.

The charges stem from a series of sexual assaults committed against women walking alone in downtown Ann Arbor in mid-July.

Three women were assaulted in downtown Ann Arbor over the course of three days -- July 16, 17 and 18. According to the Ann Arbor Police Department, investigators believe the same person committed all three attacks.

After reports of the assaults began to surface, Holloway was initially identified as a suspect by undercover police patrolling the downtown area.

Holloway was a parole absconder at the time of his July 20 arrest and has been detained in the Washtenaw County Jail on resisting and obstructing charges stemming from the arrest.

During his detention, investigators collected evidence and spoke with as many victims as they could identify to develop a case to present to the Washtenaw County Prosecutors Office, which authorized charges.

Holloway admitted to assaulting and choking a woman he saw walking alone at night on July 16 in Nickels Arcade, the shopping alley between State and Maynard streets.

Holloway then admitted to assaulting a woman he saw go into 'portable toilet' at 11:14 p.m., July 18, near W. Huron and Ashley streets.

Holloway said he was drunk when a stranger entered the portable toilet. I went inside and tried to have sex with her. It wasnt consensual.

She was able to kill Holloway, escape the portable toilet, and call out to several friends nearby, police said.

Holloway was on parole for armed robbery at the time of the attacks, and she was serving time for the offence. He must finish his remaining sentence before he can begin serving the 8-15 year sentence.

He was not credited for any time served and will have to register as a sex offender.
