Halloween 2021: Trunk-or-treats, costume parades and tick- or-deal times in Washtenaw County

Halloween (and trick-or-treating) is almost here. Don your witch hat and find your spookiest mask. Check out this list for the spooky events in your area.

Although Ann Arbor hasn't yet announced the dates for trick-or-treating in the city, previous Halloweens saw tiny ghouls going door-to-door from 5 to 8 p.m.

On Oct. 31, from 11 a.m. to 3 p. m, Downtown trick-or-treating will take place, with sledding at 11a, followed by. Participants who want to show off their costumes should meet at Main Street and William Street at 11 a.m.

The Humane Society of Huron Valley, located at 3100 Cherry Hill Road in Ann Arbor, will host a Muttster Mash Bash on Oct. 23 that will include child-friendly games, trick-or-treating, and meet-and-greets with adoptable animals. The cost per child is $10, while adults are free. The event runs from 6 to 8 p.m. Ticket-holders will be given scheduled time slots.

While the Humane Society may specialize in black cats, participants in the Dominos Farm Petting Zoo event will have a different animal in their lineup: monsters. On October 22-23 and October 29-30, the Halloween Trail: Monster Petting Farm will be held at 3001 Earhart Road in Ann Arbor. The petting zoo features werewolves and zombies, played by actors from the Ann Arbor Civic Theater. Tickets are available for purchase online.

On Oct. 30 from 7 p.m. to 10 a.pm, The Ring of Steel Action Theatre, at 3097 Varsity Drive in Ann Arbor, will host 'A Haunted Drive Thru Trick or Treat'. Tickets are available for a nominal fee, but pre-registration is required.

Dixboro United Methodist Church, at 5221 Church Street in Ann Arbor, plans to host a trunk-or-treat and Fall Festival on Oct. 22. The festival begins at 4:30 p.m., followed by trunk-or-treating at 5:30 a. M. Costumes are encouraged.

On Oct. 28 from 4 p.m. to 5:30 a. m, little monsters can also trick-or-treat at Briarwood Mall. Children can trick-or-treat with participating retailers in the store. Between 5:30 and 7 p.m., expect an appearance by Ann Arbors Violin Monster, as well as a performance by University of Michigan's Groove, spooky shows, and other family-friendly activities.

Chelsea has announced that trick-or-treating times will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 31 in the city.

On Oct. 29, Orchid Orthopedic Solutions, at 13800 Luick Drive in Chelsea, will host a trunk-or-treat event from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 pm.

Trick-or-treating will take place on the trail and hay ride at Robin Hills Farm, at 20390 M-52 in Chelsea, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 a. m on Oct. 29. A food truck and live music will be available until 8 p.m.

St. Mary's Catholic Church, 14200 East Old US Highway, will host a trunk-or-treat event on Oct. 29 from 6-8 p.m. at the church.

On Oct. 30, trunk-or-treat events will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.p at the Lambs of Our Savior/Savior Lutheran Church at 1515 South Main Street and from 3 pp.- 5 pm at Chelsea Custom Shirts at 901 South Market Street.

On Oct. 31, a Kiwanis Community Halloween Party will take place at Palmer Commons at 304 South Main Street from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., as well as sleigh-or-treats from 5:30 to 7:30 pp. at the Cole Funeral Chapel at 14 East Middle Street.

Trick-or-treaters in Dexter may participate from 5 to 7 p.m. on Oct. 31. The city requests that all participants follow the COVID-19 protocol set by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

On Oct. 29, the Dexter Chamber of Commerce will host a downtown trick-or-treat event from 1 to 4 p.m. at Monument Park.

On Oct. 31, Manchester Township, East Manchester Borough, and Mount Wolf Borough will have trick-or-treat hours from 6 to 8 p.m.

The township requested that houses that plan on giving out candy turn on an outside light.

Aid in Milan, Inc. will host its downtown trick-or-treat on Oct. 29 from 5 to 6 p.m., followed by a Halloween Dance Party from 6 to 7:30 pp.

On Oct. 27 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Saline will host a downtown trunk-or-treat. The event, held in the Key Bank Lot, 100 West Michigan Avenue, and along McKay Street, will feature a DJ and whiz.

Whitmore Lake High School, at 7430 Whitmel Lake Road in Whitmer Lake, will host its trunk-or-treat and Haunted Hustle 5K from 3 to 5 p.m. on Oct. 24. The school will operate from 7420 Whitmill Lake Rd. in the town of 7400 Whitfellow Lake.

Ypsilanti has not released updated trick-or-treat hours, but 2020s hours were from 5 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 31.

The Ypsilanti Township Recreation Department is hosting a trunk-or-treat on Oct. 30 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the ypzilani Township Community Center, 2025 East Clark Road in Xpilation. No registration is required.

The Gene Butman Ford Dealership is also hosting a trunk-or-treat. The Butman trunk-or-treat will be held on Oct. 16 from 2 to 4 p.m. at 2105 Washtenaw Avenue in Ypsilanti, Michigan. There is no cost.

The American Legion Post 282, 100 Ecorse Road in Ypsilanti, will host a trunk-or-treat event on Oct. 23 from noon to 2 p.m.
