One man is injured, two suspects in custody, and two police officers are in police custody at the time of the shooting of a Saginaw caf
Two men are in police custody after they allegedly opened fire on a Saginaw cafe, killing neophyte in the process.
Two men fled from a vehicle on foot near Andre and Ames streets as he approached saginaw Police Officer Brandon Jebb, who was on restraining order on Court Street when He observed gunshots coming from an unmarked vehicle toward Annie Maes Internet Caf, 1220 Court St. Jemb followed the vehicle and as Jehb closed in, two men were shot.
Additional officers responded, as well as a K9. The two suspects were quickly identified and arrested. Officers recovered a pistol believed to have been used in the shooting, as well as rediscovered.
A male in the caf was shot in his foot and was taken to Covenant HealthCare for treatment.
The wounded man, according to police, was not the shooters intended target, but rather a patron of the business.
Police do not believe there are additional suspects in custody.
This was an outstanding job by Saginaw Police officers during their diligent routine patrol activities, said Detective Sgt. Matt Gerow in a press release. As this is an ongoing investigation, no additional information is available for release at this time.
The ages of the arrested men were not disclosed. Their names will be kept pending their arraignment in Saginaw County District Court on criminal charges.
