Jon Gruden has been removed from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Ring of Honor by the club
Jon Gruden continues to face the consequences of his resignation.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers recalled the disgraced coach from the teams Ring of Honor at Raymond James Stadium, the organization said Tuesday.
Gruden, who won Super Bowl XXVII with the Bucs to close the 2002 season, coached the team from 2002 until 2008.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been promoting purposeful change in the areas of race relations, gender equality, diversity, and inclusion for many years, the Bucs said in a statement released Tuesday.
While we respect Jon Grudens work on the field, his actions are contrary to our core values as an organisation. He will no longer be a member of the Buccaneers Ring of Honor.
Gruden resigned as head coach of the Raiders on Monday following the release of more racist, homophobic, and misogynistic emails.
In December 2017, he was inducted into the Ring of Honor.
