Grace Park Legend Huey Briss Delivers A Gritty Performance For UPROXX Sessions With Huy Brits

Long Beach has long been on hip-hops map as a result of Snoop Dogg enduring popularity, but thanks to savvy rappers such as Vince Staples, Seafood Sam, and Huey Briss in recent years, the nation's gaze has been redirected to the city by the sea. The singer himself, Huey, took a trip to Uproxx Studios to demonstrate why North Long Beach deserves its renewed time in the spotlight with heist of Grace Park Legend (Norfside) from his spring 2021 album of the same name.

In a recent interview with the Long Beach Post, Huey discusses the musical drive behind the chilling single. When Im talking about North Long Beach, I'm speaking about people who arent there. Its like hed been talking to ghosts, a man says. Ninety percent of the people I grew up with aren't even here. Theyre all in jail, but not because theyve been beaten, they're because of their own insecurity. What do you want to do? Go to college? You don't see anyone doing that. You only want to be what you see, and if you notice everyone around you steal a car, youre going to steal it.

The music for the self-described Grace Park legend is starting to take off, and he recently released the deluxe version of his album, which you can listen to here.
