A Misfit City Series Based On The Hit Graphic Novels Is In The Works At HBO Max
If HBO was looking for a new Stranger Things, they may have found it. According to Deadline, HBO has invested heavily in developing a television adaptation of the best-selling graphic novel series Misfit City, starring tens of thousands of students, an abandoned town, and countless centuries-old pirate maps. BOOM released a new edition of BOOO in 2017. With a story this compelling, securing the rights to re-create the series would be incredibly helpful for HBO:
Hannah Hafey and Kaitlin Smith, the writers behind HBOs Popular, are set to serve as the show s creators and executive producers. Fans of the comic book series will be delighted to learn that Kirsten Kiwi Smith, whos also done a lot of film work between writing on Legally Blonde, 10 Things I Hate About You, SheS the Man, The House Bunny, and the Emmy-winning series Trinkets, along with Kurt Lustgarten, will also be producing on the HBO series. BOOM! Stephen Christy, Ross Richie, and Mark Ambrose, of The Simpsons, will also executive produce, with Mette Norkjaer co-executive producing.
As of now, no additional information on the cast or when the show will be released has been released.
