Chris Martin Thinks Coldplay's Next Album Will Be One Of Their Last
Music Of The Spheres, the bands ninth album, is now just a few days away. The new album, according to Chris Martin, could well end up being one of the bands final releases.
Martin said he believes Coldplay will stop making albums after their 12th album, in an interview set to air on October 15. Martin stated (via The Independent): I believe we will be finished with albums in a few albums time. This is not a sarcastic joke. This is true. I believe that our catalogue will be over by the time we're 12, but I think we will always want to play live together. So, I think it would be great if we could still be touring in our late 70s, like the [Rolling Stones] do. That will be wonderful, if anyone wants to come.
Coldplay has typically released a new album every two or three years since their 2000 debut Parachutes. So, assuming the band continues to release projects at the same rate they have been, the groups 12th and possibly final album could be released sometime between 2028 and 2031, depending on the album s success.
Coldplay is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.
