Koby Adom, Dola Araoye, Domenique Fragale and Danielle Goff are co-producing the series, which is produced by DBK Studios, and the show's executive producers are Dolores Arooyes, Dominique Fragile, Kobie Amano, & Dolan Arreaoyere.
Koby Adom (Noughts and Crosses) founded DBK Studios in 2018, focusing on providing a platform for stories from under-represented British creatives.
Haircut was my first film and television venture but since then, a slew of opportunities have opened up for me, and my film/TV career is fast advancing with all the ambitions I had for executing now becoming attainable. However, coming into this industry, I encountered obstacles that Id like to keep other Black and ethnic minority filmmakers from facing, stated Adom. I want to help them get their first foot in the door and champion ownership, because we have always had the fewest opportunities in our industry, and when we do, we dont have a say in business matters.
Manpreet Dosanjh, Commissioning Editor Sky Studios, stated, Sometimes opportunities for black and ethnic minority creatives to tell their stories are limited by circumstances, adding ManPreem Dozanjuh. Sky Studios only provided a supporting role when needed for Unearthed Narratives, which was extremely important to us because these filmmakers had full editorial control over the film. The ownership and vision of these films remains entirely with the filmmakers, and thats what gives this work authenticity and integrity.
