The State Department Condemned The Attack In The North-East Of Syria
The US condemns the terrorist attack in the North-East of Syria in the village of Tell Khalaf and calls on everyone to cease fire and comply with UN Security Council resolution 2254, adopted in December 2015 in support of a peaceful settlement of the conflict in the Middle East Republic. This is stated in a statement issued on Tuesday by the head of the press service of the State Department, Morgan Ortagus.
"The United States condemns the terrorist attack in tel-the Khalaf," said Ortegon. At the same time, she also mentioned "an airstrike in the Syrian Kobani," without providing details. The text of the statement does not say about the responsibility of anyone for what happened.
"Everyone should focus on the critical need for a long-term political solution to the conflict in Syria in accordance with UN Security Council resolution 2254. The unwinding of the spiral of violence hinders the settlement, the press service said. "We strongly support the calls of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and special envoy of the Secretary-General for Syria Geir Pedersen for the immediate establishment of a ceasefire throughout [Syria], as well as Pedersen's efforts to promote a political settlement within the framework of resolution 2254."
As reported by the Syrian News Agency SANA, a powerful explosion occurred on Tuesday in the village of Tell Khalaf, located near the Syrian city of RAS al-ain in the border region in the North-East of the country. As a result of the explosion, there are dead and injured.
