Trump Said That The Decision To Suspend The Issuance Of Work Visas To Be Made In The Coming Days
The decision of the US administration to suspend the issuance of several types of us visas may be announced in the coming days. The corresponding statement was made on Saturday by US President Donald Trump in an interview with Fox News on the eve of a rally in Tulsa (Oklahoma).
He was asked about what decisions can be made on the US visa policy. "We will make some announcement on visas tomorrow or the next day," Trump pointed out. "I think a lot of people will be very happy with it. And, in truth, it is within the bounds of common sense."
The American leader confirmed the information of the New York Times, which previously reported that the decree on suspending the issuance of work visas is dictated by the growth of unemployment in the United States against the background of the coronavirus pandemic. "Many people are now looking for work. This number is growing rapidly," the US President said.
As the New York Times pointed out, after the restrictions are imposed, it will be more difficult for American companies to hire citizens of other countries, including programmers and other specialists, even if they are graduates of US universities. This measure is also likely to apply to seasonal workers. The publication clarified that the US authorities are also likely to suspend or restrict several programs involving cultural exchanges between the US and other countries. According to the publication, the restrictions in question will be in effect in 2021.
