Alexander Lukashenko Declared That Belarus Will Start Developing Rocket Production
According to the Belarusian leader, Minsk does not consider it necessary to develop Intercontinental ballistic missiles with a nuclear warhead, because it is not going to capture anyone.
Belarus is not going to take over other countries, so it does not consider it necessary to develop Intercontinental ballistic missiles with a nuclear warhead. This was stated on Friday by President of the Republic Alexander Lukashenko, who visited the defense enterprise "OKB TSP."
"Of course, we are not going to engage in globalism, to seize foreign States, we are a peace-loving country. To us there is no such "interest" on the part of other States. Therefore, it makes no sense for us to develop Intercontinental ballistic missiles with nuclear weapons. We can't do that, and we have to focus on what is possible. Therefore, we are creating appropriate missile production facilities, " BelTA news Agency quotes Lukashenko as saying.
He added that he does not discount small arms, armored vehicles, and air defense systems. "We showed it all at the parade [on May 9 in Minsk]. But we will consider how we completed the program for the production of high - precision missiles and missiles in General," Lukashenko said.
According to the President of Belarus, it is necessary to develop missile weapons, because " no one has yet canceled the war, despite the epidemics, pandemics, hysteria." According to him, "we have to prepare for potential armed conflicts in peacetime." "There is no escape, "he added, stressing that the strategic task in the field of defense is to inflict unacceptable damage to the enemy in the event of"military aggression from the side." "And we must demonstrate this now, so that those who, God forbid, decide to fight with us, understand that we can respond with dignity. The best answer from the point of view of weapons today is missiles, high-precision weapons, " Lukashenko said.
"We need our own rocket. We cannot create weapons for which we will depend on other countries. No one will just give us this weapon. We were lucky enough to agree with the Chinese, they should bow for it. But this dependence should not go any further, " Lukashenko added.
According to BelTA, the President of Belarus got acquainted with promising weapons samples. he was told that the country has now mastered the Assembly of Chinese missiles, and is developing its own weapons capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 300 km. While the deadlines for the creation of these missiles are not met, the developers assured the head of state that the first prototype should appear by September. Testing sites for this missile are being considered in China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Saudi Arabia.
Last year, the Belarusian army began receiving an upgraded multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) "Polonaise", created by Belarusian specialists. The upgraded Polonaise has an increased range of up to 300 km and a higher share of Belarusian-made components. It can also use a tactical missile. Currently, the Polonaise MLRS uses a Chinese-made rocket.
The Polonaise MLRS was developed by the Belarusian precision Electromechanical Plant in cooperation with a foreign state and was first introduced in 2015. The MLRS is designed to destroy with high accuracy openly located and hidden manpower, unarmored and armored military and military-special equipment, artillery, missile and anti-aircraft missile systems, aviation equipment at home airfields and other facilities. Initially, missiles with a range of 50 to 200 km were installed on the MLRS. In October 2017, the Polonaise-M was tested with a range of up to 300 km.
