A drone that disappeared in early may in Latvia was found in a forest in the Garkalna region, a representative of the Civil Aviation Agency (CAA) Aivis Vintsev said on Sunday.
Information about the drone was received from a person who noticed it, and AGA experts and representatives of the owner of the aircraft - the company "UAVFactory" went to the scene. The drone got caught in the tree crowns, and the State Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) was involved in removing it. The drone was then handed over to the Agency for investigation.

As reported, on May 2, during the flight of a drone measuring 5.5 meters by 3.5 meters, the control system was disabled for technical reasons and the device flew in an unknown direction. The weight of the drone is 26 kg, and its flight speed is about 70 km per hour. It was reported that the fuel will last for about 90 hours.
At the request of the AGS and Gao "Latvijas Gaisa Satiksme," an AN-2 army aircraft participated in the search for the drone that lost control.
Due to the missing drone, the airspace of Riga airport was closed. The plane of the airline "SmartLynx" Urumqi-Riga had to land in Tallinn.
