BRICS Countries Will Discuss The Coronavirus Pandemic At A Video Conference On May 7
The Russian Ministry of Health will hold a meeting of senior officials of the BRICS countries on May 7 in the format of a videoconference on health issues. In particular, the topic of eliminating the pandemic of a new coronavirus infection will be discussed, the press service of the Ministry told reporters on Tuesday.
"As part of the year of Russia's presidency in the BRICS Union, a virtual meeting of senior BRICS officials on health issues will be held. The meeting will be devoted to discussing joint actions of the BRICS countries in connection with the outbreak of the new COVID-19 coronavirus infection," the message reads.
The meeting will be attended by Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. It is noted that the issues considered during this meeting, in particular, measures to eliminate a new coronavirus infection, will be submitted for discussion at the level of the meeting of BRICS Health Ministers. "It is planned that the virtual platform will provide an opportunity for partners to exchange data on the practical experience of the BRICS countries and develop joint steps to achieve a better understanding of ways to transmit and eliminate the COVID-19 outbreak," the press service added.
