More Than 53 Kg Of Cocaine Was Found In The Port Near Odessa In A Container With Bananas

In the seaport of Yuzhny (Odesa region), Ukrainian border guards in cooperation with the SBU, Prosecutor's office, and customs detained a record-breaking batch of cocaine this year.

As the press service of the state border service reported on Tuesday, the gross weight of the detected drug was 53.4 kg. The estimated cost of the elite drug seized on the black market is more than 200 million UAH. In this fact, investigative actions are carried out.

The drug was placed in caches equipped with the technical cavities of a container with bananas that came from Ecuador. The cocaine was packaged in 45 briquettes. Each briquette is wrapped in lead packages to reduce the likelihood of detection by scanners or service dogs, the press service said. Besides, each package of cocaine was decorated with an image of a minion.

As told in the state border Service, this is not the first detention of heavy drugs in packages with fictional characters in the "southern." In March, more than 30 kg of cocaine was found in this port in a container that arrived from Chile. This product was labeled with the image of a rich uncle-a character in the game "Monopoly."
