Shakira Donated Masks And Respirators To Her Hometown
Colombian singer Shakira donated medical masks and respirators to her hometown of Barranquilla. This was announced on May 1 by mayor Jaime Pumarejo.
The politician recorded a thank-you video with doctors and posted it on Twitter.
"Thank you so much for donating thousands of No. 95 masks and respirators to our health workers, who will save lives," Pumarejo said.
In response, the singer thanked the mayor's team for coordinating and delivering aid. In addition, she expressed hope for continued cooperation on the transport of protective equipment.
Colombia has been under a state of emergency since March 17 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
