Blizzard Entertainment has released a new Diablo 4 live-action trailer, directed by Oscar winner Chloé Zhao, which is set in the video game's world of Sanctuary, where humans are constantly trapped in heaven-hell battles.

The film opens with a man mourning his dead horse in a snowy field before turning to the camera and pleading for help. Interestingly, actors portray Diablo 4's in-game classes, as he fights various monsters and demons from the clutches of evil. Lilith, the game's main antagonist, finishes the trailer.

Zhao said in her response to the live-action trailer:

Nomadland won the Best Director Academy Award, as well as Best Picture, and has since made several blockbuster films, including Marvel's Eternals. Maggie O'Farrell's most recent project is a remake of William Shakespeare's novel "Hamnet," which chronicles William Shakespeare's marriage to Anne Hathaway and their only child's death.

Diablo 4 will launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on June 2023.
