Prime Video has announced that it will renew Citadel, a worldwide hit series, for a second season, with Joe Russo scheduled to direct every episode, with executive producer David Weil returning as showrunner.

Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, as well as Lesley Manville and Stanley Tucci, continue to have a stellar run in developing countries around the world, including India, Italy, Brazil, South Africa, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Citadel is Prime Video's second-most-watched new original series outside the United States, and fourth-most-watched worldwide.

From Friday, 26 May 2023 through Sunday, 28 May 2023, all Citadel episodes will be available for free to stream without membership on Prime Video for a limited time.

Citadel is the first film from the Russo Brothers' AGBO, which travels the world with interconnected stories. Each Citadel series is locally produced, produced, and filmed in-region, forming a distinct global franchise. Series are already underway in Italy and India, with Matilda De Angelis, Varun Dhawan, and Samantha Ruth Prabhu.
