As it prepares for its inaugural season, The Motor City Cruise has announced several new hires. The Detroit Pistons G League franchised has rounded out its basketball operations staff, including four assistant coaches, two front-office executives, and training staff.

Jamaal Benjamin, Xavier Silas, Brian Boyle, and Marcus Stout, all will be on the roster at The Cruise, where they will all work under new head coach DJ Bakker. Mike Faletti, the director of basketball operations and player engagement, was also added to the team.

Benjamin, Silas, and Boyle have all worked as assistant coaches in the G League with them.

Benjamin has worked as a Video Coordinator Assistant for the Los Angeles Clippers, viewed as an Video Analyst and Opposition Scout for The Orlando Magic, as well as as Assistant Coach and Head Scout of the Westchester Knicks.

Silas has returned to the Cruise after spending the last two seasons as an assistant coach for the Delaware Blue Coats. From 2011 to 2019 he had played for a number of teams.

After working as a player development coach for the organization, Boyle was promoted to assistant coach of the Agua Caliente Clippers at the beginning of this year's season. From 2014-2016, he was a video coordinator for the Denver Nuggets.

Stout, a Detroit native, worked as Flint United's director of player development.

The team added Jillian White as its equipment manager and assistant director of basketball operations, along with the other four new assistant coaches. Seth Ellanson and Anthony Barry round out the staff as head athletic trainer and head strength & conditioning coach respectively.

The Cruise will open its season on Nov. 6 at Cleveland Charge at 7 p.m. on the Cleveland Cruise.
