Trump Explained 1 Million Coronavirus Infections In The Us As "The World's Best Testing System"
Donald Trump attributed the high number of detected cases of coronavirus infection in the country, 1 million, to a well-functioning infection testing system. He wrote about it on Twitter on Wednesday.
According to the Johns Hopkins University, which conducts calculations based on information from Federal and local authorities, more than 1 million cases of coronavirus infection were recorded in the United States, and almost 58 thousand people died. In terms of the number of infected, the US is far ahead of any other country in the world - in Spain, which is in second place in the number of detected cases, there are only about 232 thousand.
At the same time, the restrictive measures imposed to prevent the further spread of the pandemic are causing serious damage to the United States economy. According to senior Trump adviser Kevin Hassett, unemployment could reach 16-20% as early as June. Against this background, the host of the White House on April 27 recommended that state governors lift sanitary restrictions as soon as possible, but in a way that does not endanger the health of citizens.
