Is Mirrorsoft a Reputable Company?
Mirrorsoft is a real company, founded by Jim Mackonochie, who was a development manager for Mirror Group Newspapers. This proposal paved the way for Mirrorsoft's acquisition in 1984, which included the Mirror Group. The company published titles such as "Boulder Dash," "Dynamite Dan," "Legend of the Sword," and "Legend of the Sword."
Mirrorsoft was involved in the distribution of 'Tetris' after negotiating a license with Robert Stein, who brought the Russian game from the Soviet Union to the West, via Spectrum HoloByte. Still, he told Mirrorsoft executives that he would be able to obtain the other platform rights to 'Tetris,' which he did not even own. Henk Rogers later came to know about Stein's trading licenses.
According to Daniel Ichbiah's 'La Saga des Jeux Vidéo,' Henk and his business partners at Nintendo of America acquired home and handheld console rights to 'Tetris,' defeating Mirrorsoft. Henk even wrote to Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev, but the British businessman ultimately conceded defeat.
Is Mirrorsoft still alive?
Mirrorsoft's business took a turn when Robert Maxwell died in November 1991. Despite his death, the company published several games including 'First Samurai,' 'Mega-Lo-Mania,' and 'Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles: The Coin-Op,' including 'J. R. R. Tolkien's Riders of Rohan,' 'Waterloo,' and 'Falcon,' among others.
Acclaim Entertainment purchased several shares from Acclaim in 2004. Throwback Entertainment relaunched Mirrorsoft in 2020 as "MIRROR Soft," including "Legend of the Sword," "Battle Master," "Waterloo," and others. In February 2022, MIRROR Soft released 'Chronomaster," a game that consists of man-made "Pocket Universes" filled with cyborgs, pirates, and witches.
