The second entry in the 'Power' series follows Tariq St. Patrick, the son of James St. Patrick, the protagonist of the original series. The character was recast in season 3. Here's all you need to know about it.
What Was Theo Rollins' Reincarnation?
Theo Rollins is the older brother of defense lawyer Davis MacLean (Method Man) in the 'Power' universe. Davis visits his clients in prison for the first time in season 2.
Theo's formal introduction to the narrative were covered in depth. The third season continues to develop on this. Cooper Saxe (Shane Johnson) handed over his brother's case to Cooper without telling him who he is or why he is in jail. He is, after all, tenacious and intelligent. By the time he meets his new client, he has established who he is and why he is in jail.
Cooper confronts Davis after Theo completely shuts down on him and persuades his client's younger brother to explain what really happened. Davis accepted the charges and accepted the plea deal, allowing him to go to Columbia Law and become the man he is today.
Cooper explains that the prosecution was aiming to get the case resolved swiftly, and they offered the plea deal. Theo has been diagnosed with hepatitis B and D and is suffering with liver cancer. This latter disorder can be resolved with a new liver, but his conviction automatically makes him ineligible. Davis demands that the doctor complete the necessary paperwork and assures him that his brother will be released in time for the treatment.
In season 3, the public learned that Theo was being played by a different actor, not Redman, and took to social media to express their displeasure. Neither the series producers nor the Starz executives have spoken publicly about Redman's sudden departure.
What Caused Redman to Leave Power Book II: Ghost?
Courtney A. Kemp's idea for bringing in Redman to play Method Man's brother was initially approved. The former agreed to the suggestion and gave the actor his approval. After all, he and Method Man have both worked on several projects together in the past.
Jordan Mahome, an American actor who has been in the industry since 1997, has replaced Redman as Theo Rollins in the show. His credits include 'Bull,' 'The Get Down,' 'Ray Donovan,' 'The Punisher,' and 'For Life.' In 2014, he directed an episode of 'The Sonnet Project.'
