A Starfield admirer has shared his opinion on why atmospheric flight is likely to be absent from Bethesda's upcoming RPG.
After much discussion on the possibility of atmospheric flight, Redditor DoradoPulido2 released a fairly detailed rebuttal using screenshots from official Starfield gameplay.
If you follow the Reddit link you can see the whole argument with screenshots, but the gameplay consists of selecting one of them and then zooming in on the solar system, from which you can explore the planet. Between them, there will be a good old loading screen — not a player-controlled descent into the planet's atmosphere and surface.
This isn't even remotely official information from Bethesda. Nonetheless, it's pretty clear. Starfield won't have fully seamless planetary landings, although it hasn't technically ruled out the possibility of flying through planetary atmospheres between loading screens, according to a detailed fan theory.
