The Hollywood Reporter reported on a new daytime program on BET. The Breakfast Club will be broadcast five days a week on the network through a partnership with iHeartMedia.
BET will air a one-hour special edition of The Breakfast Club every Monday through Friday, with Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy as the hosts. The programming will feature interviews and conversations with celebrities, artists, and thought leaders, as well as entertainment news and commentary.
For the first time since 2014, the Breakfast Club on BET has reintroduced daytime television.
"We're thrilled to join iHeartMedia in bringing The Breakfast Club and their unique cultural commentary to our listeners," said BET CEO and president Scott Mills in a statement. "We're confident that the partnership will benefit our viewers and our partners."
"This addition to BET's programming lineup will extend our reach to new daytime viewers," says Brian Rikuda, BET's EVP, Enterprise Growth Strategy, Business Operations, and Programming Strategy.
On BET and VH1, The Breakfast Club will launch on Monday, April 17 at 9:00 a.m. ET. All episodes from the week will be available to watch every Sunday on BET+.
DJ Envy said, "I'm looking forward to being a part of The Breakfast Club on BET." "I like what the new BET is doing!"
Charlamagne Tha God said The Breakfast Club has been the home of many cultural institutions, including Rap City and 106 & Park, that have shaped a generation. We look forward to continuing the tradition.
