The recent surge in Cyberpunk 2077 has allowed the game to increase its sales, boosting its revenues from CD Projekt Red. In 2022, the game will have its second best year yet.
The Phantom Liberty DLC will be released next June, and the development team has announced revenue of approximately 222 million dollars over the previous year, which has produced around $80 million in net profit, and those results were driven by Cyberpunk 2077 sales.
The game's longevity has been boosted by the release of the L'next-gen update, as well as the tremendous success of the animated series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, although CD Projekt RED has stated that the game's growth has extended well beyond Netflix's launch.
According to customer feedback, the popularity of the series and the positive reception given to the update, which was made available a week before the release of Edgerunners, impacted significantly on Cyberpunk 2077 sales and perception of the game.
"This is a clear sign of a deeper connection with the Cyberpunk franchise, and an expansion of its scope is the direction to take." Another important episode in support of the Cyberpunk series will be the release of Phantom Liberty, which is expected to grow significantly this year.
