The designers do not intend to implement a new transportation system.
CD Projekt RED will not include a full-fledged subway system to Cyberpunk 2077, as it was cut out at one of the game's development stages. In response to numerous questions from the fan community, Community Director Marcin Momot revealed this.
According to a CD Projekt employee's interview with a Czech gaming publication, fans are mulling the return of the subway. Apparently, the players were victims of an incorrect Czech translation.
The designers at one time explained the absence of the subway and other modes in favor of making the game more interactive.
The players were still able to use the subway at the end of the game: modifications enabled the subway system to partially restore it.
