Bloober Team The Polish studio working with Konami on the remake of Silent Hill 2 has issued a statement in which they seek to dispel two recent rumors about the game that have been taken out of context due to poor translations.
On the one hand, it discusses the popular rumor: that the game is "technically ready," that the release date is more dependent on Konami than on them, and that they have already done all of their work.
The Bloober Team wants to clarify that "Silent Hill 2 is not ready for release," and that "it is false."
"All of our activities are focused on ensuring the highest level of quality for the final product, the quality that Silent Hill 2 lovers deserve," says the author.
Bloober clarifies that Konami isn't leaking information on the date of Silent Hill 2.
With this statement, they want to clarify that Konami does not "hinter" them from releasing information about the release date or even halting the release.
"We are aware that players want further information on Silent Hill 2," says the author. As soon as this information is available, Konami, the game's publisher, will share it with fans.
The second rumor they object to is a poorly translated statement from Bloober Piotr Babieno, translated by MP1ST, in which he seemed to state that they hoped to sell 10 million copies.
"Our company remarks did not include sales forecasts. Silent Hill 2's mention was referring to the future success of the types of games we're planning to concentrate on in the future."
Therefore, the Bloober Team clarifies rumors about Silent Hill 2, which their partner Konami might not have liked, and makes a compromise. The Silent Hill 2 remake will be released on PS5 and PC, and there is no release date.
