Thomas Haden Church, who plays Flint Marko, has said that his return for Marvel and Spider-Man is being discussed in a recent interview with Dempsey Pillot of The DisInsider (via Variety).
"We had a whole story involving his daughter in No Way Home," Church said. "We all had a lot of discussions, and Jon [Watts] and I, and Amy [Pascal] and Kevin [Feige," and I'd say discussions have been about Sandman entering a future version of it."
Flint Marko's return is a mystery, but Church maintains that discussions have taken place. "Yeah, that's been discussed."
"The discussion has gone on about him returning and maybe uncovering a more satisfying story with Flint and being, not just Sandman, but returning to human form," he added.
Although Church may reprise his role as Sandman in a future Spider-Man film directed by Tom Holland, many fans might want to see him reprise his role in another Tobey Maguire-starring Spidey film. However, Maguire has gone on record stating that he wants to return in a more official capacity.
"I love these films and all of the different series," Maguire said during an appearance at Marvel earlier this year. "If these guys called me and said, 'Would you show up tonight to hang out and goof around?' or 'Would you show up to do this movie or read a scene or do a Spider-Man thing?' it would be a 'yes!'
For the time being, Maguire's Spider-Man 4 is a long-lost Spidey legend, Church's words underscore that there is still reason to believe in certain individuals. The complete interview with Church can be seen in the video below.
