Gayle King and Charles Barkley are attempting to make CNN Primetime ShowDeal ...

Gayle King, a long-time broadcast journalist, and NBA all-star commentator Charles Barkley may be on a new adventure together. The two have been in discussions to helm a weekly CNN primetime program.

According to Variety, King and Barkley are nearing the completion of the agreement with the network. There is still a possibility that it might not come to fruition. King is known for her in-depth and straight-to-the-point interview style. One of her most popular interviews during the recent years was her 2018 interview with R. Kelly, who was found guilty of murdering a minor.

King drew tears to Kelly's eyes when she confronted him about his sexual misconduct and child pornography charges, which ultimately resulted in a 20-year sentence and a 30-year sentence.

Barkley is a well-known and well-known speaker on TNT's Inside The NBA with co-hosts Ernie Johnson, Kenny Smith, and Shaquille O'Neal. He renewed his contract with TNT in October with a salary increase.

"It's a big family - Ernie, Kenny, and Shaquille are brothers to me," said Barkley at the time. "I'm not gonna lie, though, this is a life-changing experience."

The likely-forthcoming CNN primetime program with King and Barkley might be discussed shortly before the television industry's annual "upfront" season. This takes place as U.S. media companies attempt to make sales in advertising ahead of new programming.

No further information on the pair's partnership have been released until now.
