Ubisoft resigned from E3 2023 yesterday, despite having promised to bring a "strong lineup" of games to the event, although SEGA and Level Infinite both stated that they would no longer attend.
SEGA's statement reads:
Tencent Games stated that it finds Geoff Keighley's Play Days event (which is happening again this year) "a fantastic opportunity for showcasing [its] games to the media." The same goes for Bandai Namco Entertainment, which declined to announce its participation at Play Days.
Devolver Digital has announced that it would not be hosting its E3-adjacent event this year, instead focusing on its Devolver Direct event in June.
The future of E3 appears to be in jeopardy thanks to a four-year break since the last physical event, despite a change of hands this year and expectations of success. In the comments below, let us know what you think.
