Afeez, who has two years old and an 8-month-old child with Taylor, went to New York last week to meet his children. He was not on good terms with the reality star, thus maintaining his distance from the family.
Afeez went to Taylor's house with his mother when he said something that he ignored. She was enraged at being ignored and became violent with Afeez.
Taylor followed him and beat him with a bat, which resulted in severe facial bleeding.
Afeez was taken to a hospital where he received stitches above his eye. Taylor was also charged with two assault counts, one for putting a child's welfare and another for unlawful possession of a weapon.
The Reality Star has been released from prison.
Taylor appeared to have been released after posting bail at the premiere of Teyana Taylor's film A Thousand And One on March 27. After the event, she went to a club with her friends. The LHH star has not commented on the matter.
Afeez posted a photo of his injury on Instagram last week, without naming Taylor. "Domestic violence against men is real and should be taken seriously," he wrote.
Taylor aspired to fame with her appearance on Love & Hip Hop: New York in 2016. The series follows a group of hip-hop artists as they navigate their daily lives and careers in a constantly changing industry.
Taylor was previously arrested in 2019.
Taylor was arrested for assault on a witness earlier in 2019 and was charged with third-degree assault. However, the charge was later dropped. A few months later, Taylor allegedly assaulted a witness in the case and was released.
