The Last of Us, a remake of the popular game, was released today on PC. The previous version of the game, released in 2013, was initially released only on the PlayStation 5, and now the developers have talked about how the development for the PC version was going.
After Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, The Last of Us Part I was the studio's second contemporary PC release, and it was the first to include modern features such as VSync, frame rate limiting, customizable texture quality, realistic shadows, reflections, and other features.
The game engine must be improved as well as some gameplay elements, including movement. When you approach an infected person, the player's emotions can increase this pressure, attracting the attention of enemies.
Moving is a two-way process on the PlayStation, and each time you encounter enemies, it adds tension. This aspect on a keyboard works in a completely different way, and the designers had to study and adapt this aspect to make the gameplay as enjoyable as it is on the console.
Naughty Dog's work is a new skill, yet the studio required all of the experience gained in the previous ten years to release the PC version of The Last of Us Part I. And now, the studio is determined to use the knowledge gained in the future to tell its stories, not only on the PlayStation 5, but also on the PC.
Naughty Dog is currently working on an online version of The Last of Us, as well as an unannounced game that will "look like a TV series." There are also rumors that a sequel to The Last of Us is in the works.
