Kathy will lead the Ubisoft game's narrative.
Cathy Scott, a game industry veteran who has worked at Electronic Arts and The Coalition, has joined Ubisoft as its director of game design for the Gears of War series.
Scott has been named one of Ubisoft's vice presidents. She will work in the company's international creative division, which helps Ubisoft's studios organize story elements.
Ubisoft has been attempting to expand its creative team for several years now. Until recently, the company was controlled strictly by game developers; now, Ubisoft wants to give studios more freedom.
Individual franchises or game types, such as those with service mechanics, are expected by the VPs on the revamped creative team. We don't know which franchise went to Katie Scott.
Scott is the second experienced game designer to join the Ubisoft creative team. Bernd Diemer, Guerrilla Games' former chief designer, joined Ubisoft at the end of January.
This is an interesting post.
