The basic narrative of 1923 follows a generation of the Dutton family in 1923, during a period of various difficulties, including Prohibition, drought, and the early days of the Great Depression, which affected Montana long before the 1929 Stock Market Crash. However, the second season can expect to pick up the narrative from the beginning.
