According to the most recent speculation, a remake of Sega and Overworks' 2000 role-playing game, Skies of Arcadia is in the works.
Shpeshal Nick stated during the latest episode of The XboxEra Podcast that Skies of Arcadia will be remastered at some point. He claimed to have seen screenshots from the remastered version.
Nick believes that Sega will be able to re-release the game on modern platforms.
Overworks developed Skies of Arcadia as a 2000 role-playing game for Sega Dreamcast. Later on, in 2003, the game was released on the GameCube. It consists of a young air pirate named Vyse, who, along with his friends, is attempting to save ancient weapons that have the potential to end the world.
Skies of Arcadia emphasizes exploration rather than turn-based combat. Players engage enemies in turn-based combat to strengthen their characters.
The overworld consists of six regions, which are navigable in three dimensions by flying airships. "Discoveries," or secret locations, give the player additional advantages. The player must also hire characters they encounter while exploring, giving exploration and combat additional advantages.
