Anoop_Khatra, a Twitter user, posted a video of an automobile accident captured on the camera of his Tesla electric vehicle. An incident comparable to the film Final Destination took place along the 118 Freeway near Los Angeles.
The first generation Kia Soul car was driving in the left lane and ahead of other passing vehicles. The Chevrolet Silverado pickup's front left wheel came off and rolled right in front of the Kia Soul. The compact car quickly landed on four wheels, and the ill-fated wheel, which became the culprit of the collision, quickly overtook and hit the hatchback again.
After this incident, Kia Soul's driver was able to leave the vehicle on his own and did not sustain any injuries, according to the video. The driver of the Kia Soul explained that his Tesla activated his Autopilot and turned right to avoid a collision with a loose wheel.
A similar incident occurred a few years ago near Gary, Indiana. The Toyota RAV4 collided with the wheel of another vehicle on the road, crashed into the vehicle and landed on the wheels.
Both incidents illustrate how significant the improvements in automobile safety are. Probably the cars of the 1970s would not have been able to ensure passengers' safety in such situations, with ups and downs.
