The Nintendo eShop for Wii U and 3DS will close today, March 27, 2023. After this date, it will no longer be possible to access the store via the old Nintendo consoles, which will remain regularly available only on Nintendo Switch.
Due to time zone limitations, it will still be possible to make the most recent purchases on the Nintendo digital store for a few more hours before it goes completely offline on Wii U and 3DS: the Nintendo digital store will be inaccessible starting at 03:00 on 28 March 2023.
Although it is unclear what the reason is, it should be noted that all purchases previously made on the Wii U and 3DS eShop remain valid; therefore, it will be possible to download the games or DLCs already purchased again after the morning of March 28th. For the rest, Nintendo enthusiasts are preparing to welcome the service that has given them so much pleasure on the older platforms.
People have spent $23,000 on every 3DS and Wii U game on the eShop in the last few weeks, embarking on a costly but essential quest to preserve those games that might be gone forever. the house of Kyoto has implemented this program.
