The Last Ronin, a graphic novel mini-series based on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle's legendary history, will be a darker, more violent story and fast-paced action, based on 2018's God of War: Ragnarök's combat style.
Doug Rosen, Paramount Global's senior vice president for Games and Emerging Media, explained that the upcoming game is in the early stages of development at a currently unknown studio. He was keen to underscore that they have found the best partner to translate "The Last Ronin" into "an ambitious AAA video game." There is no official release date yet, with Rosen believing the game is "still a few years off."
"The Last Ronin" will be a departure from the popular old-school beat-em-up titles and will follow the recent God of War mini-series' narrative closely. Players should expect to master each weapon in turn and swap between them on the fly as the battle hordes of Foot Clan soldiers.
"The Last Ronin" is receiving the same love and attention as "Rocksteady's Batman Arkham series" and "Insomniac's Marvel"'s Spider-Man." If this is the case, then fans should expect the same level of care and attention for its well-loved characters, punchy combat, and a well-written, emotional narrative when the game finally launches.
