PS5 might be canceled following takeover, according to Redfall? Microsoft reacts! ...

Sony is continuing to fight Microsoft's planned acquisition of Activision Blizzard, arguing that it might keep major gaming brands away from the PlayStation in the future. The Redfall example certainly illustrates this, but Microsoft has now reacted in this regard.

Statements about the upcoming vampire shooter Redfall have recently prompted one to pause and take notice of the still unresolved situation surrounding Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard.

Smith concludes, before claiming, "They came in and said, "No PlayStation 5, we're going to concentrate on Xbox, PC, and Game Pass." Before Microsoft entered the stage, Bethesda said, "No PlayStation 5, we're going to focus on Xbox, PC, and Game Pass."

Sony is clearly in the driver's seat when it comes to the acquisition of Activision Blizzard. That is not in the interest of market watchdogs, which are vital at the moment.

Why: One platform less implies less complexity and less effort to correct errors if necessary. And, even if the PS5 variant is already in the works or was just being considered, it is unclear if the move was made by Smith.

Nevertheless, Microsoft has decided not to allow this statement to sit still for too long. "In fact, we've expanded our game portfolio since buying ZeniMax," said a spokesman.

Deathloop and Ghostwire: Tokyo are two PS5 exclusive games that have previously been promised to Sony in corresponding agreements; in this regard, Microsoft has tended to stick to existing contractual provisions. Redfall and Starfield are two possibilities that might be intriguing.

"All games that were available on PlayStation before we purchased ZeniMax in March 2021 are still available on PlayStation," according to a Microsoft spokesman. "We have continued to release content updates for PlayStation and PC."

Isn't that all that these future re-releases are about anyway? The last word in this discussion hasn't been spoken yet!
