A game about the iconic Tolkien character will be released from Germany in a few weeks, according to the new trailer. The game's developers from Daedalic Entertainment and publisher Nacon also state the game's new release date, which should have been announced a long time ago but has been postponed! In May, the time has finally come!
When will Lord of the Rings: Gollum be released?
The Middle-earth stealth game will be available in stores on February 25th 2023 and will be released for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series, and Xbox One. A Nintendo Switch version is also planned, but there is no specific release date for this yet.

The gameplay starts with a brief tutorial sequence in the depths of the Misty Mountains, particularly in Gollum's Lair, demonstrating the stealth gameplay that will be the focus of the game. We'll have the option of throwing stones to distract enemies and sneaking past them, as well as traversing the realms in different ways through climbing and parkour moves, leaving the player to decide how to progress through each one place moved.
The filmmakers suggest that Gollum's small stature allows him to see Middle-earth from a new angle not previously explored in Tolkien-inspired games. Gameplay switches to Barad-dûr, where Gollum is able to engage in meaningful conversations with characters and make some crucial decisions based on who is the dominant personality in his head at the time: the cunning one Smeagol.
