A new key visual has been released for the Gamera Rebirth anime, which had previously been announced, as well as information on the synopsis. Studio ENGI is the animator of the series, while Hiroyuki Seshita is the director.
The four sixth grade elementary school students were vacationing for the last time when a huge kaiju Gyaos appeared. Gamera is the focus of their "Summer of Kaiju."
Hisako Kanemoto (Durarara!!, Bleach, Girls und Panzer, Jujutsu Kaisen) as Boko, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Sword Art Online, No Game No Life, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaibai) as Junichi.
Keisuke Ide will serve as the series' assistant director, and Atsushi Tamura will assist in the character creation. Kenta Ihara, Hiroshi Seko, and Hiroyuki Seshita will supervise the series' composition, with Ferdinando Patulli and Naoya Tanaka leading the way in the production. The anime is listed with six episodes on Netflix.
Shusuke Kaneko directed Gamera: Guardian of the Universe (1995), Gamera 2: Attack of Legion (1996), and Gamera 3: Revenge of Iris (1999), which are now known as Heisei Gamera.
The kaiju Gamera first appeared in the 1965 film Daikaiju Gamera (Gamera, the Giant Monster) directed by Noriaki Yuasa. The next Gamera film is the 2006 film Chiisaki Yusha-tachi Gamera (Gamera the Brave).
