As you may have seen on our pages, an arcane employee stated that Redfall's PlayStation 5 version has been canceled due to the acquisition of Bethesda by Microsoft, causing quite a stir on social media.
The GameSpot editorial staff wrote to the Redmond giant to request further clarification on the matter, and the response was as follows:
“We haven’t taken any games off of PlayStation,” says the company. In fact, the first two projects that came to market after the deal closed were PlayStation 5 exclusives. After purchasing Minecraft, we continued to support them through updates, just like with the releases PC.
Microsoft has reiterated its preference for exclusives, which seems to have not changed from the past. Although, it cannot be excluded that some of the famous series' sequels may still be available on PlayStation in the same manner as Minecraft Legends.
