Janine Nabers revealed she wrote a letter to Beyoncé during the production of the show. She claimed that she made her intentions clear when it came to using the Renaissance singer as the basis for the Amazon Prime Video show.

"I wrote her a letter basically saying, 'Yo, you are awesome. I love you." Nabers said. "This is not a struggle to jeopardize anyone's reputation."

During an interview with Elle, the playwright explained why they chose Queen Bey as their show's inspiration.

Nabers cited several "salacious" mythologies about the star's identity that enticed her and Donald Glover to create a Beyoncé-like character.

"I think for us, again, it's the emotion that that person invokes. There are just so many interesting stories that you read on the internet about someone or something, and you're like, "What is this story about?" Like "the bite," for example, "It's always just, how do you get there and bite a person?"

“It’s what makes entertainment dope,” says a Black person, and simply putting our own spin on it, and that’s what made this process enjoyable. We were just very grateful that Amazon gave us the license to do that.”

Dominique Fishback, Chloe Bailey, Billie Eilish, Damson Idris, Paris Jackson, and Kiersey Clemons all star in the movie Swarm.

On March 17, the psychological thriller Amazon Prime Video released.
