The Resident Evil 4 remake has just days left until it's released, and fans of the series will remember how everything started.
The original Resident Evil game was released on the original PlayStation on March 22, 1996. The game quickly became a must-have on the original PlayStation, spawning seven direct sequels, many spin-offs, remakes, a mediocre Netflix series, and even its own line of spirits!
The original Resident Evil is no longer available on modern platforms, so players will not be able to play it the way it was played 27 years ago. However, in 2001, a remake of the game was released for Nintendo GameCube, which now includes Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S!
