The Silent Hill 2 remake work is nearing completion, and the release date is dependent on Konami ...

The Silent Hill 2 remake's development is almost complete, though Konami's likelihood of a release date is largely dependent.

Piotr Babieno, the president of Bloober Team, said that the Silent Hill 2 remake is technically done, but that the decision to announce a release date is entirely up to the publisher, Konami.

Silent Hill 2 is technically ready, according to Babieno. Though, he added that this does not mean the game is finished yet. The studio is however on track to fulfill its potential release date.

The studio president stated that the new approach is a departure from the Bloober 2.0 strategy, rather than a radical departure. He said that the development team is gradually shifting away from environmental storytelling in favor of games that are familiar to a wider gaming audience.

The studio is currently working on two major projects, namely Silent Hill 2 with Konami and a new IP tentatively dubbed "Project C" with Take-Two Interactive. In addition, Bloober Team is also collaborating with Anshar studios in the development of the unannounced "Project M," and with Rouge Games in the unannounced "Project F."

Layers of Fear, a first-person psychedelic horror game, has been a major success, and that Bloober Team is planning to emulate Resident Evil or legacy Silent Hill in future.
