'Waco: American Apocalypse,' a documentary series on Netflix, chronicles the life of Branch Davidian leader David Koresh and how he, along with several of his followers, died at the end of a 51-day siege by law enforcement agencies. The situation escalated into a firefight and a siege, ultimately resulting in tragedy.

Rachel Koresh, who was she?

Rachel Koresh's parents were longtime supporters of the Branch Davidian movement and were well-versed with David Koresh. From a young age, Rachel was introduced to the Branch Davidian faith and is said to have many childhood memories of spending summer months at the Mount Carmel Center ranch outside of Waco, Texas.

Rachel was initially concerned about such behavior and was displeased when her husband tried to sleep with her sister, Michelle. However, David explained that God gave him the gift of having sex with Michelle. Nevertheless, Rachel and David shared two children, a daughter Star and a son Cyrus.

Rachel Koresh: What Caused Her Death?

The FBI placed a hold on the Mount Carmel Center compound for 51 days as they attempted to rescue nineteen children and a few adults. The rest of the Branch Davidian refused to give up.

The FBI attempted to expel 76 Branch Davidians from the building on April 19, 1993, but the majority surrendered to the authorities, while the others stayed with David. Authorities later discovered that David, his wife, Rachel Koresh, and many other Branch Davidian members, including several children, had died in the fire.
